Lewis Temple to Step Down as CEO
The Impact Facility’s Chief Executive Officer, Lewis Temple, will be stepping down after 11 months of impactful leadership. During his tenure, Lewis played a pivotal role in advancing the organization’s mission of fostering sustainable and locally driven development for mining communities, and supporting the team to launch some truly impactful initiatives. He will be taking on a new role as CEO of another organisation.
Reflecting on his time at The Impact Facility, Lewis shared: “It has been an honour to lead this organisation and collaborate with such a passionate, dedicated and diverse team across East and Central Africa and the UK. In our short time together, we have made great strides in supporting artisanal miners to create opportunities for sustainable community development. While I look forward to my next chapter, I am confident that The Impact Facility will continue to drive meaningful change.”
The Board of Trustees expressed their gratitude for Lewis’s contributions and leadership during his time with the organisation. They remarked: “Lewis made a lasting impact and delivered remarkable results with impressive speed. His dedication and vision has left a positive impact on The Impact Facility. We wish him the very best in his future endeavours and are confident that his leadership will continue to inspire others in the international development and sustainability sector.”
As part of this transition, the Board has begun the search for a new CEO to carry forward the organisation’s mission and the role will be advertised shortly. Lewis will be leaving in early March.
The Impact Facility remains committed to its core goals of supporting mining communities to drive their own locally-led development, fostering responsible supply chains, and advancing environmental stewardship. These guiding principles will continue to shape the organisation’s work as it moves forward.
